Samsung showcased its vision for new-generation technology and innovation “” at its 2017 Samsung Southeast Asia and Oceania Forum in Singapore. Like previous years, Samsung has set their Samsung Forum 2017 as the stage for them to share announcements of new products coming to the region in the next 12 months. From smart fridges, washers as well as the latest TV technology – Samsung range of products is set to fulfil the needs of just about anyone this year – SAMSUNG QLED TV.
“At Samsung, we remain committed to developing thoughtful innovations that not only address the ever-changing needs of our customers, but are also aimed at making a meaningful impact in their lives,” said Yong Sung Jeon, President & CEO. Samsung Electronics Southeast Asia and Oceania. “Despite some challenges, we’ve made big strides in 2016 and will continue to look forward as we engineer a smarter future together with our consumers.”
Quantum is the key – SAMSUNG QLED TV
Leading the pack is Samsung’s announcement for their Quantum Dot TVs that ranges from 32″ to 98″, further demonstrating its continued leadership within the entertainment visual display market. With picture quality remaining a top priority for consumers, especially as the average TV continues to increase in size, Samsung’s latest range of QLED TVs represent yet another leap forward. Also announced at the same forum are several new addition to their gaming monitors, home appliances as well an update to the Family Flub 2.0 – the connected fridge for the home.
The Quantum Dot display technology offers dramatically improved color performance, displaying DCI-P3 color space accurately and – in another first for Samsung – QLED TVs are able to reproduce 100 percent color volume. This means they can express all colors at any level of brightness with even the subtlest differences visible at the QLED’s peak luminance, between 1,500 and 2,000 nits.
The new Quantum dots allow SAMSUNG QLED TVs to express deeper blacks and rich detail regardless of how light or dark the scene is. or whether the content is being played in a brightly lit or dark room. Furthermore, the Samsung QLED TV can generate peak luminance as high as 1,500 to 2,000 nits without impacting its ability to deliver accurate and impeccable color. With its metal alloy Quantum dot, brightness will no longer be compromised to boost color performance, which is also maintained regardless of how wide the viewing angle may be.
Samsung also introduced new design elements that aims to enhance the QLED TV experience even further. The practically invisible optical cable helps to solve the issue of unsightly cords and clutter that can be found in the home with a sleek, single cord system. Additional accessories such as the optional “No-Gap Wall Mount.” makes mounting a TV flush against the wall simpler and faster. Finally, for those who desire a variety of stylish options when displaying their TV, Samsung introduced two new optional elegant TV stands -Gravity and Studio – that appeal to the consumer who prefers an unmounted TV.
In addition to the new range of QLED TVs, Samsung also shared its plans to deliver a more unified experience for customers using various services and devices.
• Samsung Smart Remote – Enhanced to support even more devices, the new Samsung Smart Remote will now offer voice control capabilities across more Smart TV features, allowing consumers to have increased flexibility as they enjoy all that their Samsung QLED TV has to offer at the touch of a button.

Family Hub 2.0 – Samsung QLED TV
As the centrepiece of the family, the new Family Hub 2.0 represents a central location for information can be shared and disseminated through the family, as well as providing safe haven for perishables for the group. The next-generation refrigerator builds upon Family Hub 1.0, which was introduced to wide acclaim last year. It features enhanced usability with improved app integration and diverse new app partners.
With the Family Hub 2.0, usability, as well as food management, is significantly enhanced through expanded and intuitive app integration. Users can determine which food items need to be replenished through the built-in cameras and View Inside app. Images of those items can then be added to the shopping list feature, and conveniently ordered through online sites and mobile applications. In addition, the refrigerator features recipe readout and enlarged text to make it easier for users to multi-task in the kitchen, and allows access to recipe content from countries all around the world.
The two-door design ensures the food items in the Family Hub 2.0 is kept separate and fresh until when the user needs it. With the 21.5-inch LED touch-screen serving as an interactive digital bulletin board on the front, family members can then – through their profiles and the Family Hub app on their smartphone – share photos, access updated calendars, handwrite memos in real time, and post memos from anywhere.

Robotic cleaning service The POWERbot™ VR7000 is the company’s latest entry to their robotic vacuum line of products -which brings improvements over the previous model. Its Edge Clean Master feature enables the unit to come within 15mm of the wall. This is achieved by placing the unit’s wide 288mm brush – the widest among leading brands – close to the front, enabling the unit to easily gather dust and hair when it reaches the wall. Additionally, the Auto Shutter feature further meets that demand by automatically dropping down a barrier to help the unit sweep up more dust collected closer to the edges.
Like so many of Samsung’s home appliances, the POWERbot™ VR7000 is IoT-enabled, and fully controllable remotely by a Samsung Smart Home app. From a smartphone or other mobile device, users can start or stop the machine, schedule cleaning times, and check the cleaning history.
