Gl2706pq review – The ideal home or office monitor?

This 27″ TN LED monitor boasts an impressive response time of 1ms and a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440. Connectivity consists of HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort, as well as a headphone jack and audio line-in to power the pair of 1W speakers.

In terms of the ergonomics the GL2706PQ has a height adjustment of 120mm, -5o to 20o tilt and 160o swivel as well as pivot. Needless to say, it’ll happily satisfy the company’s health and safety representative as well as making sure your comfortable for long term use.
To aid the ergonomic design further, the GL2706PQ review also includes BenQ’s own flicker-free and low blue light technologies. Both of which are recommended for users who are sat in front of a screen for the best part of the day, to reduce eye-strain and the negative effects associated with working with a monitor.
The design of the GL2706PQ review is up to BenQ’s usual high standard. The matte black finish throughout doesn’t attract any environmental glare and helps make the image on the monitor a little easier to view. It’s a big monitor, though, measuring 533 x 623 x 230mm and weighing a tad over 8Kg. However, it’s certainly sturdy enough to survive a busy office.
The image quality is good too, especially with the additional 2K resolution. The colors are good, not washed out or anything, but the blacks could do with being a little deeper for our personal tastes, otherwise the image is perfectly clear and crisp. Although it lacks an IPS screen, the monitor does offer decent viewing angles and even at the extremes there’s still a good image presented.
Normally you’d expect to have to pay more, for a decent 2K monitor with an ergonomic stand. However, BenQ has managed to pitch the GL2706PQ review in for a far more. It’s still a fair amount when you compare it to other 27″ monitors, an Acer K272HLE only comes in. Consider, though, the fact that the GL2706PQ manages to tick all the right boxes and you begin to realize just what good value this monitor actually is.
The BenQ GL2706PQ review is a really good monitor and one we’re quite happy to have as our permanent screen. Full 4K monitors may not have taken off just yet and although 1920 x 1080 HD monitors are still perfectly fine, the middle-ground improved image quality option is therefore a 2K model.
